很多人做英文簡報遇到狀況時，常會默不作聲或頻頻向聽眾道歉，其實這兩種方式都不恰當；最好的方式是冷靜地向聽眾解釋，或者求助於他人，並要聽眾配合。以下便是簡報時常會遇到的各式情況用語。
狀況一：遇到設備問題
好用句型：
… is not working. （…壞了）
There’s something wrong with…（…有問題）
The speakers are not working.
擴音器壞了。
There’s something wrong with the microphone.
麥克風有問題。
I’m afraid the computer froze up.
我想電腦當機了。
Looks like I have to restart the computer.
看來我得重新開機。
I don’t think the wireless pointer is working.
我想無線簡報器壞了。
I’m sorry about the technical problems.
不好意思，遇到技術問題。
Could someone please help me with this?
能否有人幫我一下？
Sorry for the delay. It will take a few minutes to fix the projector.
不好意思耽誤時間。修復投影機需要幾分鐘。
狀況二：場地相關問題
好用句型：
Can someone +V…? （可否請人…？）
Please +V（請幫忙…）
Can someone dim the lights?
可否請人幫忙暗燈？
Please turn off/on the lights.
請開/關燈。
Please shut the door.
請關門。
Please close the drapes/blinds.
請關窗簾。
狀況三：向聽眾提議
Why don’t we +V…? （我們何不…？）
Let’s +V…（我們…好了）
Why don’t we skip the next section?
我們跳過下一個部份好了。
Maybe we could take that issue up at another meeting?
那個議題或許我們另外開會再討論？
Why don’t we take a break for a few minutes?
我們休息幾分鐘如何？
Does anyone need a coffee break? I do.
有誰需要休息一下，喝點咖啡嗎？我自己需要。
Let’s meet again in 10 minutes.

狀況四：要求聽眾回應或參與活動
Please stand up and form a big circle.
請站起來圍成一個大圓。
Why don’t you get into groups of three?
請您們三個人一組。
Please discuss this issue with the person next to you.
請和您隔壁的人討論這個議題。
Could you all move to the front of the room?
可否請您們都移到場地前面？
Can you all hear me clearly? Speak up if you can’t.
